GEIR ARNE JOHANSEN EGIL THOMAS HANSEN

Geir

Hey, I'm Geir. I was born on a cold November night way back in 1976. I grew up in a small town in southern Norway with my parents, a younger sister and a younger brother. I started my musical "career" hitting keys on my mothers piano and organ as well as "surfing" on my fathers vinyl records across our old livingroom floor. So you might say I grew up with music in many ways. As far back as I can remember I always wanted to be in a band, and as I got older I took some pianolessons for a little while, but I soon discovered I wasn't for me. I enjoyed playing the keys and it did not take me long to learn anyways. Although I had to learn everything by ear. This would later prove to be very useful to me as I only had to listen a tune to learn it.

I bought my first keyboard when I was 14. It was a Technics Sx-K700, and I still have it infact and still use it from time to time too. Shortly thereafter I was asked to join the band Thomas and some friends had started. In the beginning we covered The Cure songs, and later went on to cover Marillion and Eloy besides writing our own music. I had to leave the band in 1995 because I got drafted, and had to go join th army.

I've done some solo projects since the late 90's, but I never found the sound I wanted. Then this electronica idea came to me, and Thomas was the only alternative as a band member. We hooked up, talked about the idea and here we are today. I sure hope you enjoy our music. Stay tuned!!

Peace and love
Geir

Thomas

Thomas, with a Egil and a Hansen, at your service.
Born on the lovely 29th of may 1976.
I started playing piano when I was 5, and "moved on" to organ when I was seven. One of those huge Technics "livingroom-monsters" if I remember it right.. :) It would also be a shame not to mention my superb career as a clarinet-player in a local
marchingband in Halden. I managed to hold on for approx 3 years, before it finally drowe me to the edges of madness :D
One christmas (I must have been around 9 or 10), my parents came up with this great(?) idea
to give me a guitar. I remembered I tuned all the strings to a open hand a, and "barred" my first
smoke on the water. It was fun for a week or so...
Then at 13, my friends and I started a band. Texaco Stovner. My role was lead singer and guitarist.
Geir joined on keys. Progrock, Concerts, fun!
I "laid" Texaco Stovner or Suspicious Minds (we changed name in 1995) "dead" in 1997.
Had a musical break until I started Hofmann Solution in 2000. We had a lot of fun, but as people
both got kids and houses, we ended the show in 2006.
I thought my "active career" as a performing musician was over.
Then Geir came up with this crazy idea! `Lets start a electronica band`. The guitarist in me was
stunned, but the synthfan said yes :)
So here we are (once more) (<---internal joke). Two ordinary guys making their own un-ordinary music.
I hope you like it as much as I do.
Enjoy!

Thomas
